Interesting Travel Sites By: Suta Chabok

These days we all travel more on our yearly vacations, some more than others while the really adventurous like to travel as far away from where they live as they can. Whatever your travel interest is you will find a wealth of information online at numerous travel sites. Many people use the internet now to plan even complex travel plans, never seeing a travel agent. The main problem is the convenience of it all and the huge savings that can be found using the internet.

There is obviously a great deal of trust required to use the internet this way as often the companies you deal with have never been anything else but an internet based business. I much prefer to deal with someone I can see and touch, that's why I still use my travel agent and I also know they have a real office that I can visit. My travel agent is also used to me changing my travel plans and knows that I will complain if something is not right. The problem I find with travel sites is there is no-one to speak to and I find this very impersonal; if you are fortunate enough to find someone to speak with they may be in another country for all you know.

How do you know what they are telling you is the truth because it won't be until you actually go away that you will find out. It is because of the number of things that can go wrong I still prefer to use my local travel agent even if it does take a little more time and there may be more to pay. Whereas a good friend of mine only ever books her vacations online and always those advertised at the last minute; probably from cancellations. Admittedly, she has save a small fortune this way as she will just look at the sites and be patient until the right vacation comes up at the right price.

I wish I could do this but my work just wouldn't allow me to suddenly take time of as they normally need a couple of months notice. I don't doubt for one minute that by using a travel site can be less expensive as you can also get discounts on tours and car hire by booking this way. Knowing a little about what you want and information about the location you want to travel too can be useful so I still research as much of this as I can online before I pay my travel agent a visit. Perhaps it isn't fair because I know that it will be my travel agent that will hear my complaints if my vacation doesn't go according to plan.
