Biofuel Still To Be Proven By: David Barnard

Although it may sound grandiose - biofuels are just a form of power developed from organic matter. Using Biofuels is another way we do not have to rely on fossil fuels which cause so much damage to the environment. Its aegis ethanol and what have been derived and drawn from plants like sugar cane, as well as vegetable and corn oils are contained in the biofuels' umbrella. This does not mean that society only uses ethanol as a gasoline substitute, however. Although currently only two percent of ethanol is used as a gasoline substitute currently, but 2025 that figure could be ten percent and thirty percent by 2050 according to The International Energy Agency (IEA).

However, we have a long way to go to refine and make economic and practical these biofuels that we are researching and a study by Oregon State University proves this. We still have to develop an alternative to gasoline (from petroleum) that is equally, if not more efficient and practical. We measure the efficiency of any energy by how much we obtain from it in relation to how much was used to create it. No such thing that had been built nor utilized has gained more energy from the output as compared to what was from the necessitated input.

The input energy is what it takes to produce the end-product which is the energy that's essential for our necessities and the process by which these energies are converted and put to use is what greatly matters. It has been noted from a study conducted by the OSU that gasoline made from petroleum is 75% energy efficient and Biodiesel fuel at around 69% while corn-derived ethanol was only found to be 20% energy efficient. Although these studies did provide proof of something very interesting: Ethanol derived from Cellulose is 85% efficient which as actually higer than nuclear energy.

The Chicago Stock Exchange has a grain futures market which is starting to “steal” investment activity away from the oil futures in NY, as investors are definitely expecting better profitability to start coming from biofuels. In fact it is now believed among scientific circles that by 2030, around thirty percent of the world's fuel used for transport will be supplied by these fuels. An energy markets analyst had certainly stated that if the government would financially support firms distributing biofuels and constantly promote the use of eco-friendly fuel, the growth in demand for diesel and gasoline may slow down dramatically.

some countries have seen the benefits and have decided to set aside land for the growth and development of biofuels. It can annually generate about three and a half billion gallons of ethanol. Despite their love of gasoline, the United States is the second largest producer of biofuels. The European Union's biodiesel production capacity is now in excess of four million (British) tonnes. 20 percent of the EU's biodiesel fuels are composed of an insignificant amount of palm oil and its eighty percent are drawn from rapeseed oil and soybean oil.

Homemade Wind Energy and Homemade Solar Energy can save you a whole load of money every year. This is something you NEED to look at.
