Can A Car Really Run On Water? By: G. Spenser

The demand for hybrid cars is increasing in the market as more people becoming more aware of the damage regular fuel does to the environment; not to mention the rising cost of fuel. It is a logical move that is necessary to sustain a habitable environment and keep costs low and less taxing on the pockets. The technology fuelling the dynamics of hybrid cars works on the premise that preservation of the environment remains the primary importance and is less dependence on carbon based fuels for energy.

The hybrid car cuts down on fuel usage and emission by using an electric motor to supplement a fuel engine; this allows the car to get as much power as required, remaining friendly to the environment. Hybrid cars are better than both purely gas powered and purely electric powered cars; compared to the former, they are better for fuel efficiency, and compared to the latter, they are better for everyday usage. Combining the two sources of power, a vehicle then is created that is relatively non-polluting and will lead to less fuel usage. There is enough energy in the hybrid car to be driven adequately on the freeway and with less fuel that too! They are great for 'stop now, go now' kind of driving that you need to do when the traffic is heavy.

Hybrid cars need recharging but all you need to do is to plug it into an electric socket. The car's gasoline engine or the car itself can provide for the power that is lost due to continuous coasting and braking. The gasoline engine cars are not as advantageous as the hybrid cars; here are the reasons why the hybrid cars have an edge.

The carbon dioxide emanated by the vehicles is significant in causing the greenhouse effect, which in turn is responsible for causing a deterioration of the ozone layer. The vehicle will produce carbon dioxide in an amount that is directly proportional to the amount of fuel that it consumes. As they use more electricity than gas, and because electricity is not harmful to the environment, hybrid cars are environment-friendly.

If you buy a hybrid car, you get tax rebates; that spells out economical benefits for you. Hybrid cars are very good for their resale value; if you are selling your hybrid car after keeping it with you for sometime, do not be shocked to find that you are making better money than what you bought it for. The size of the engines of the hybrid cars is smaller than the gas driven cars because they have another source of absorbing power too. Though the engines are small, when combined with the electrical power supply, they can provide a very satisfactory performance.

Since the problem of pollution due to traffic is only increasing, the hybrid car is a technology everybody will accept. Hybrid cars have a great edge over the conventional cars in saving the environment because they use less fuel. For all these benefits, hybrid cars are really expensive and therefore most people cannot afford them but experts suggest that buying a hybrid car is an investment everyone must make.
